had this been a real emergency, there would have been no saving you.
nobody here but us chickens
when i saw this i actually got patti smith’s version of don’t smoke in bed stuck in my head.
8th grade, the beasties LOUD, being young and earnest and the only one in your group with a mad (secret) crush on MCA when all the other girls loved Ad-Rock, (probably cos MCA always looked like the old dude, and ya’ll know i’m kinky for the old dudes). it’s a sad day for all of us. you will be missed, Adam. i’d like it a whole lot if people i hold in some regard would stop dying now, thanks.
big, busy day tomorrow, part of which involves recreating a photograph i originally shot 13 or so years ago. i have high hopes. if it works, i’ll share it with you. it’s always been one of my favorite images.

last fall Miss W gathered some acorns. she wanted to grow some oak trees. so we wrapped them in damp paper towel, put them in a Ziploc bag, and hid them under the back porch all winter. this week, we pulled them out.
they’ll stay in the pot in the house until the middle to end of may, then we’ll move them outside. they should start sprouting some greenery in a few weeks (hopefully). in the fall, we’ll plant them in the ground.
I realized today that I never posted about this. The Mister and I went on our annual date to see/hear Mark Steyn speak at Hillsdale College. It’s a bit of a drive for us, but always worth it. Steyn was as humorous as ever preaching his economic doom. And, of course, he’s not generally far off the mark. (No pun intended).
this is the weekend where i make a zombie crack and piss off all of my christian friends. i am told jesus loves me anyway, which always brings to mind one of my favorite lines from a ‘mats song …
at any rate, have a nice easter, from your friendly agnostic jentober.
she was just being silly, and it cracks me up. she’s totally rolled her eyes at me before, and there isn’t a mother of a daughter out there who hasn’t gotten the eyeroll. or will eventually. they must learn it from us.
in other girl news, i finally listed a slew of photographic delight on my etsy shop, so go buy stuff and help support my photographery habit. you know you want to.
one month left of the semester, probably the most action packed month of the whole class. i’m feeling a wee bit stressed these last couple weeks. deaths and births and sicknesses and never enough time in the day.
mother’s day is coming up. buy your mom something pretty from my shop. she’ll think you’re really classy or something.
